Fairy lake |
The lake features a splashing fountain and is teaming with painted turtles as well as resident swans, ducks and geese. Rabbits and squirrels will entertain you as you stroll. The bandshell is on the opposite shore with a variety of concerts to entertain you on Sunday evenings. |
Southampton |
Situated at the mouth of the Saugeen River and Lake Huron, it's the oldest port on the Bruce coast. Miles of sandy beach provide a perfect setting for family fun, watersports, sunbathing or strolling. |
Trails |
Take advantage of the historical walking tours, bike or hike the Railtrail to Port Elgin, a pleasant 8 kilometres away. We are within minutes of trails for winter cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and snow mobiling. |
Leisure |
Visit the Bruce County Museum for a step back in time or take a week/weekend class at the Art School in either fine arts or crafts which are available for the beginner or advanced students. |
Sports |
Excellent fishing is a year round sport in both the Saugeen and Huron for rainbow, salmon, bass, perch and whitefish. Charters, guides, boats and motor rentals are available. Spend part or whole day canoeing or kayaking down the Saugeen. Fourteen tennis courts offer both short term and seasonal memberships with lessons for all ages. Four excellent public golf courses are withinn a 15-minute drive. Lawn bowling is available on lighted well-groomed greens. |
